SEA Conference 2026
Difficult Conversations: Power, Care, and Existentialism
Join us for a day long conference as we explore the intersections of “Difficult Conversations: Power, Care, and Existentialism”. The world today feels more explicitly fraught—divided by schisms that run through families, generations, and systems. From grappling with unfamiliar ways of being to navigating the plausible threats to our existence, the modern human experience is being tested in ways we have never faced before. In a climate where psychotherapy is often reduced to “improvement” rather than “care,” finding spaces to truly confront, explore, and feel is vital. We believe existentialism offers unmatched potential to meet these challenges.
Niki D will be offering a keynote titled Imperfect Allies: Whiteness, Cisnormativity and the Ethics of Staying with Discomfort. There will be themes around death, caregiving, love, therapy, mediation and otherness as a mix of new speakers and old hands offer their research, thoughts and experience to the existential community to enable, encourage and illicit difficult conversations both on the day and in our work and lives going forward.
Space is limited. Book early to avoid disappointment.
