The SEA is proud to present a 3 day Existential Coaching Training Programme for existential psychotherapists and counsellors aiming at expanding their professional expertise adding the ability to offer coaching either as an extension of therapy work, or as a separate supporting facility for their clients.
The sessions will be on Zoom. A link will be sent prior to the event.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance and/or a Certificate of Completion if the full course is taken.
Pre-requisite: Trained therapists, counsellors or mental health professionals with basic knowledge of the existential-philosophical landscape and its key themes.
Foundations:
day 1 Saturday 5th June 2021 10am-6pm
(8 hours including lunch break)
- An introduction to coaching – key definitions, models and approaches to practice
- Key differences between coaching and therapy
- Refresher of key existential themes and how to spot them in the coaching room
- The existential coaching framework and how it may be applied in practice
- Working with paradox, dilemma and anxiety through a coaching lens
- Existential coaching vs. Existentially-informed coaching
- Experiential learning through demonstrations, fishbowls and practice in triads
Advanced:
day 2 Saturday 12th June 2021 10am-6pm

- The 4 Worlds Model as a coaching assessment tool
- Existential process models: MOVER and CREATE
- Guidelines for existential coaching practice
- Expectations that clients may bring to existential coaching

- Phenomenological inquiry in coaching
- Working with the here-an-now in coaching
- Existentialism as fertile ground for the integration of coaching and therapy

Yannick Jacob
Trainer: Yannick Jacob is an Existential Coach (MA), Positive Psychologist (MSc), Coach Trainer & Supervisor (DIP) and Mediator (SPCP Dispute Resolution). He’s the Program Director of the Accredited Certificate in Integrative Coaching at the School of Positive Transformation, for which he’s gathered many of the world’s most influential coaches, and until 2018 he was the Programme Leader of the MSc Coaching Psychology and faculty at the University of East London’s popular MAPPCP programme (MSc Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology). Furthermore, Yannick is part of the teaching faculties at The School of Life, Animas Centre for Coaching and the International Centre for Coaching Supervision. His love for coaching, positive existential thought and personal development is contagious and he loves to challenge people to think, learn & grow, to explore the BIG questions and to appreciate the whole spectrum of what life has to offer. As a coach Yannick partners with his clients to help them lead and navigate their lives and careers, to make big decisions and, ultimately, find ways to be happy.
