Existential Group Psychotherapy and Counselling

A two-day seminar presented by Karen Weixel-Dixon

23rd – 24th April 2022 10am-6pm UK Time Zoom.

Event Description

The fundamentals of Existential Groupwork: theory and practice.

Karen believes group psychotherapy (and counselling) is an invaluable project and warrants more
appreciation than it currently garners.

The topic will deepen the appreciation of the inter-related nature of existence, and, likewise, of
the existential therapeutic project. The seminar will hopefully motivate practitioners to
embrace group therapy alongside traditional formats of individual therapy.

Additionally, the principles presented in the seminar can readily be applied to special interest
groups with therapeutic intentions, as in groups with a focus on parenting, addiction, sexuality,
etc.

This topic will hopefully encourage therapists and counsellors to consider the significant and
particular benefits of existential group therapy, and to appreciate how the principles of
existential thought and work can be readily adapted to this format.
